2016 HeadshotMelissa Leddy is a published author who has been writing and editing professionally for nearly 15 years.

She grew up near Scranton, Pa., home of Michael Scott and “The Office.” At age 9, she won her very first writing award in her childhood library’s annual short story contest. She attended college and graduate school at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Va., where she earned both her B.A. and M.A. in English.

During her career, Melissa has cultivated expertise in marketing communications, proposal development and magazine publishing. Currently, she’s a freelance writer and editor based in the Hudson Valley of New York. Current clients include an East Coast university and a book author.

Melissa has worked at The CE Group, Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Richmond magazine, among other stops. From 2011 to 2014, she wrote the weekly parenthood blog for the San Antonio Express-News.

In February 2014, Melissa appeared on the morning lifestyle show San Antonio Living to share five of her top money-saving tips for parents, based upon her first book, “Diaper Bag, Coffee, Let’s Go! 237 Tips for First-Time Moms.” San Antonio Magazine featured her as its “SA Story” in its May 2014 issue. The San Antonio Business Journal also covered her and her writing journey.
